The 2011 Golden Slipper barrier draw for Saturday’s $3.5 million two-year-olds’ showdown has been released with easing favourite Sepoy drawing barrier 10.
A double-digit barrier should not be an issue for the Blue Diamond Stakes winner, with the weather the big factor for Sepoy.
After drawing ideally with barrier five, the only horse in this year’s Golden Slipper to have defeated Sepoy is the Anthony Cummings-trained Smart Missile who will now likely to surge into equal favouritism.
Other hopefuls to draw favourably for the Golden Slipper include the Lee Freedman-trained Masthead (4), Clarry Conner’s forgotten fancy Satin Shoes (2) and Mosheen with the inside running from barrier one.
Many of the early fancies in the Golden Slipper field suffered a blow with wide barrier draws including Elite Falls(16), Karuta Queen (13) and Foxwedge (11).
The Chris Waller-trained filly Fast And Sexy drew the far outside barrier 17, moving into 16 for Saturday.
